Colombia is seeking credit from abroad to help fund its transition towards decarbonisation and energy and economic diversification. During an interview at Climate Week in New York, Minister Muhamad said that she will publicly announce Colombia’s energy transition plan at an economic fair on October 2. Muhamad expects up to US$10 billion of funding to come from international financial institutions and more economically developed countries, in line with the government’s proposals to exchange debt for climate action
