And I doubt she'd have much better luck in Georgia, which is run by Republicans at the state level. In addition, since you didn't read the article, perhaps you don't realize the family doesn't have much money. The father couldn't take time off work, and if they'd gone to another state, their insurance might not have paid. As it was, they ended up with tons of bills they couldn't afford for the emergency they had to deal with.
