Yep, we introduced critical thinking and metacognition .. https://karentuiboyes.com/2020/07/metacognition-thinking-about-your-thinking/ .. to 14y-olds in our Personal Development course about 40 years ago. Sure hope that stuff is being pushed throughout every school now, starting in about year 8. Should be introduced and taught specifically then teachers have to be strongly encouraged to incorporate in their subjects as a cross-curriculum thing.
