reality check - Let’s fact-check and break this down clearly.

The claim that Indonesia's top destinations for coal in 2023 were India (108.93 million tons) and China (81.68 million tons) isn’t quite accurate. According to reliable sources, China actually imported 215.7 million tons of coal from Indonesia in 2023, much more than stated. India was indeed a major buyer, but at 108.4 million tons—close, but slightly off. Overall, Indonesia's coal exports reached 518 million tons, another detail missed in those numbers.

Regarding the idea that someone like Park could just enter the market, it’s important to understand the scale here. Companies like Adaro Energy and Bumi Resources are handling tens of millions of tons, and they work on long-term contracts directly with buyers. These contracts are incredibly complex, involving multi-year negotiations and stringent logistical and financial requirements.

There’s also a reason why no major player would release their supplier information to the public. Revealing such details would jeopardize negotiations, attract unwanted competition, and potentially damage both pricing and supply stability. Supplier relationships are strategic assets that are closely guarded because of the competitive nature of commodity trading.

In short, the numbers presented don’t fully align with the actual data from 2023, and the idea of sharing supplier info is not only unrealistic—it would also be detrimental to any serious business in this field. The coal industry, especially in a major exporter like Indonesia, is about strategic partnerships, trust, and protecting sensitive information to maintain a competitive edge.
