First, it's a OFFSHORE betting market utilizing bitcoin, the biggest and most played is the newer polymarkets, mostly owned by Theil and even in the betting market theil is manipulating it as well. His name is all one needs.
The reporter is questionable as well. He makes a off the cuff comment that people not using crypto because that's basically the only way to bet on polymarkets I beleive is some sort of small hurtle. The reality is a vast minority is actually using bitcoin mostly in trading on exchanges. Almost no actual real market product use yet.

Theil's name is all one needs to know what this is about. Just like junk stock, claiming false metrics and financials that don't exist can indeed move the market and percentage points if that's the goal.
