Do you remember Donald Sterling? He was the very rich guy in L.A. who owned the Clippers. Back in 2014 he made a number of embarrassingly racist comments to his mistress. In public. And she happened to be black, as I recall.

Within a few weeks, it was announced that Sterling was suffering from increasingly severe dementia. His wife sold the team. He hasn't been heard from since. He's still alive, at the age of 90, and presumably has either been institutionalized, or has private caregivers.
