Do you know the genetics of the Bam-1 parental lines? I don’t. But the bivoltine silkworm lines do better in Vietnam and frequently have larger cocoon sizes than do the polyvoltine strains.

Many of the hybrid lines I’ve run across have bivoltine dna in them.

The latest PR seems to indicate that KBLB does not plan to rear all of the hybrid eggs they harvest in this crop. They will likely be kept in the fridge. (I did incorrectly use the term freezer before when I meant fridge. Sorry.)
