“Do you know the survival rates of past???”

According to the ‘rah rah’ pumpers it’s right at 100% with these new so called ‘disease free’ worms. Anybody that can do a little math can see the bullshit in these latest PR’s. Just need to take your blinders off. There’s no way you need 80% of a usual silkworm brood to increase the herd size by a factor of 8.

Why aren’t the hybrids being raised by contract farmers and why aren’t there a lot more of them already? You should only have to cull the parent lines to keep the best parent stock. The culls should all (with obvious exceptions) be cross bred to produce hybrid silk. It would be a lot more productive to sort out any unacceptable cocoons that the hybrids produce than to only breed the best of the culled parent lines.

Is there ever going to be something produced with this silk? Why hasn’t there been any Dorn material produced yet? There should have been plenty of silk reeled in the last batch to do this. Are they just that incapable of multitasking?
