Problem is the 2nd Amdt. and the fraud the NRA has committed with it.
"I don't believe it's the 2nd amendment that is the problem. It's modern weapon manufacturers and the NRA going back to the nra beginnings where they only took a few words from the amendment and brainwashed the weak that it only a meant 'right to bear arms' without telling anyone that the thing was written when the new country was still under threat of invasion from Britain and others, and nra leaves out the militia wording where if under threat you are allowed to defend yourself with weapons without fear of government punishment. At least that's what I get out of it."
You have the NRA history wrong when you say "It's modern weapon manufacturers and the NRA going back to the nra beginnings". Don't forget at the beginnning the NRA had it right:
How did the NRA gain such power and influence on our citizenry? For the first century of its existence beginning in 1871, the NRA primarily devoted its efforts to gun safety. Following enactment of new restrictive gun laws requiring gun licensing and taxes, a 1977 coup within the NRA membership led by militants resulted in a new harder edged and more aggressive NRA. The truth mattered not. The edifice of the NRA headquarters would now bear an abbreviated version of the Second Amendment: "The Right of the People to keep and Bear Arms Shall not be infringed." The NRA amended the Constitution unilaterally to avoid even a hint that the language pertaining to a Militia had any meaning. The law of the land spoke otherwise. .. http://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/read_msg.aspx?message_id=87067625
