Hezbollah says it has successfully completed the first phase of a retaliatory attack on Israel in response to the killing of commander Fuad Shukr .. https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2024/7/31/who-isfuad-shukr .. at the end of July.
Earlier on Sunday, Israel said it had launched airstrikes on southern Lebanon in a “preemptive” attack when it detected Hezbollah’s preparation to attack northern Israel.
That's Al Jazeera. Note the heading says clearly Israel attacked first. No ambiguity. Now Reuters. Israel striking first doesn't get a mention until down a bit, and even then the first strike of this latest day is mentioned indirectly, as a preemptive attack by Irael.

JERUSALEM/BEIRUT, Aug 25 (Reuters) - Hezbollah launched hundreds of rockets and drones against Israel on Sunday in retaliation for the assassination of a senior commander in Beirut last month, the Iranian-backed movement said, as Israel's cabinet met to prepare a response. The Israeli military said it had thwarted a much larger attack with pre-emptive strikes after it assessed that Hezbollah was preparing to launch the barrage.
Based on just the above, i'd say it would be fair to say Al Jazeera gives the most candid reportage of this exchange. Why this post. well i said here i believed Al Jazeera reporting is credible, meaning i felt it consistent with what i saw in other places, including Haaretz. So on seeing the two in a search list it struck me that since it has been suggested on this board Al Jazeera is no more credible on this war than say the NYPost or Breitbart could be this was some evidence to support my position that Al Jazeera's reporting on the war was credible. So this post.
Based on the above i see Al Jazeera as winning on the question of straight-up reporting, this time.. What do you think.
