So I checked
The New Yorker Magazine January 18 2021 -- $5.98

And? Your point? Unfortunately, publishing is expensive. You have to pay the writers; print versions of what you do are increasingly pricy. Now we have AI, which is in my view a scourge. Who needs the writers? Why not just vomit out "content"?

That's what's happening. Everything's going to hell.
