You read my posts in the most negative light possible. I wasn’t downplaying Bam-1 nor was I attacking the current production cycle.
In the latest PR, Thompson told us that their current crop of silkworms had reached the 5th instar and were eating mulberry to grow before reaching the point where they would cocoon. He reiterated the point that Bam-1 has been less vulnerable to diseases than previous strains.
With me not posting for two market days after the PR came out, the price dropped about a penny. Don’t blame me for things that happen before I said something neutral. Investors looked at the PR and shrugged, pretty much like I did.
I’m guessing Thompson decided he was going to release a PR every week. Some weeks you don’t have much to say except, “Well, our silkworms are still growing and we added a couple of rooms onto our facility in case we need the space for production.” He managed to jazz it up with ‘exponential growth,’ ‘most robust,’ and ‘quantum leap,’ but we’ve heard that tune before and understand it conveys no new information.
He remains tight-lipped about details that investors really care about. He could have provided photos of the areas where the silkworms are growing and given us some indication about the size of the crop, but Thompson remains secretive in that aspect as always.
I wanted a PR campaign before a big launch and that’s exactly what I’m getting. Wish he was willing to talk about more interesting things or he had set up a ‘nanny cam’ so we could watch the silkworms grow. Hopefully investors won’t get tired of looking at PRs that don’t provide any meaningful new information. ‘Boy who cried wolf’ problem. The drop in share price indicates some of this may be happening.
I will end with my recommendation that investors hold their shares if they can. That’s where I am.
