Unfortunately, all it tells us is that BAM-1 is more robust than the previous strain that held the distinction of being the most robust.

There are an infinite number of situations that match that criteria. It could be the case that the previous best was only 1% robust and Bam-1 is 1.1%. I doubt this is the case, but Thompson is not telling us anything of value.

Anyone who got excited about Monday’s PR really needs to get a new hobby. About all we have learned is that KBLB expects their silkworms to begin cocooning in 6 to 8 days.
