One little flaw with your theory. The silkworms are going to eat the same amount of mulberry whether they are producing eggs (parent lines and/or hybrid) or they are producing silk. You would end up with way more worms during the rainy season from just increasing the parent lines than you would if you made some of them into hybrids. Plus you would end up with way more parent line worms than you would be able to handle especially with no income coming in.
They reported the GSS batch that they raised was plenty to get SpydaSilk going. Their first batch of BAM1 was reportedly larger than that so why not get some silk shipped to SpydaSilk and get some product made along with some income? Silk worm reproduction is more like 100x100x100 per generation than it is 10x10x10. If they are already on their 3rd batch of parent lines they should already have plenty of parent line worms to get through the rainy season. Siphoning off 10-20% to produce hybrids and silk shouldn’t/wouldn’t be the limiting factor on expansion plans and would reduce the amount of mulberry needed during the rainy season.
