In west africa there are probably animals and biodiversity that tolerates it's toxicity, as just about all native areas do. But in Australia it's a nasty invasive with no animals to control it's growth. That's just a nasty out of place plant.

Next time you complain to the railroad, tell them the plant is deadly poisonous to people and pets and you will sue them if you get sick.
