by the way, I wear an N95 mask when visiting my parents in the expensive nursing care facility they are in.
The workers are only required to wear masks (the ineffective blue ones or whatever; often below their nose) when they go in their room to treat them.
My sister who is doing a lot of additional care (a retired nurse) wears an N95, and has signs on their doors to put on a mask when workers go in.
Of course there was an outbreak of covid this past February. My folks didn't get it. Many on my Mom's floor did. Maybe a few died?
Reality in the nursing care industry. I hope to die along a hiking trail from exhaustion....or maybe a fall off a steep ledge. No nursing care facility for me if I can help it.
Meanwhile, I see a good number of people wearing masks where I shop, go to gym and other places. Mostly the cheap blue ones. May help with colds, or possibly flu, but not at all for Covid. Go figure. I just use the gym wipes for everything I grab and haven't had any colds the past 4 years.
I hope you realize that all new viruses go through an evolution process as they spread. From more virulent to weaker. Otherwise, if they kill their host, and well the virus would die too! Nature is fascinating, and how the viruses know (well they don't have a brain, it is evolutionary pressure benefiting survival by getting weaker over time, and hence we have the common colds and flu viruses that just thrive for 1000s of years. Now with a much weaker Covid virus, it may even boarder at risk like a cold, or more like flu to more immunocompromised people. I still get the flu shots very year. Caught the flu in Jan 2020 of all times. They must have had a poor match.. Got the tamaflu and it was gone in a few days.
