Thought so. And agree. If what i've read is right you can thank your founders for not having as much faith in democracy as we have these days. Was a time ago, but i recall at least some of them, or one,, saying the reason you have the electoral college is that you can't always trust majority rule. Something like that. Our optional preferential voting is a good deal too. And no separate election for a president. There has been an off and on push for a republic with a president here, long time ago i decided i'd never vote for a deal where we had a separate election for president. An asshole like Trump would never be able to become leader of either of the two major Australian parties and the leader of the party getting the most seats is the pm now. Dunno who would be president. On our republic debate, for now anyway, i'm sitting on if it isn't fucked as your system is don't fix it.
