I wouldn't like to think Smith hasn't done his thing in the best possible way.

He hasn't. He should have filed the case in DC. That was an option. Though the documents had been taken to Florida, they'd been removed from, and belonged in, D.C.

I think he wanted to appear to be "fair". But that sort of consideration is always a mistake with Trump.
