Yes, very fortunate.

I once briefly considered moving to New Zealand. It was back in the mid-'80s, I think. I saw an ad somewhere announcing that the University of Christchurch was looking for a bunch of art history and architectural history professors. Four or five of us talked about taking over the department, which obviously was barely staffed, and running the show by ourselves.

But we never seriously looked into it. After all, our research had to be done in Europe, and Italy is far, far away from Christchurch.

It seems, though, that Christchurch has a nice climate, along with the rest of New Zealand.
