Not sure, LaFayette withdrew their registration S-1, then re-submitted it and currently looks like they are proceeding with the IPO, so looks like a plan is in place.

A merger with Trio would create a California / Utah / Louisiana multi-state oil and gas company of significance, and imo, would create a better potential takeover candidate for an Oil Major, then either Trio or LaFayette on their own.
