LIV announcers revealed that the former world number one was suffering from a cut on his foot: cameras showed him grimacing in pain after hitting a shot last Friday; it has since been confirmed that Rahm has an infection in the area in question. While many have pointed out that Rahm was born with a clubfoot, it affects only his right leg.

The 29-year-old is due to hold a news conference on Tuesday ahead of the US Open (9:30 a.m. ET), which begins on 13 June. It is expected that this is when Rahm will announce either his participation or withdrawal from the highly anticipated tournament in the states.
