You know, sometimes I think the reason the trolls act the way they do is that they have fundamentally different views of the world and a totally different value system.

When one of us posts something that doesn't pan out as factual (it happens, infrequently, I have been fooled before) we mostly acknowledge it and feel something they are incapable of, which is shame. And we adjust to the new information and adapt. They just move on to the next attack and with virtually no standards of behavior (or decorum) they pile bullshit on top of bullshit. I think part of it is education, as once someone learns to sift through information and reach the proper conclusion, having their outlook means they can blurt out anything, but in an academic setting, it would mean failing the exercise and flunking out. We have several "F" students in the critical thinking cadre represented by our trolls. So the divide is not easily crossed, and it leaves us almost speechless, as getting lectured by a dumbshit magat is repulsive to people trained to think.

I have observed that the non-trumpster repubs are still conservatives, but are bright enough to reject a lying moron that we instinctively know is outside the amplitude of what we can tolerate in our leaders. Espousing the party line in magat land is a bridge too far for anyone who is genuinely patriotic.

With lying and accepting lies as a condition of admittance, fewer and fewer are joining the cult, I would hazard a guess that it is shrinking. Add in the shenanigans of making birth control and abortion rights into a crime and I think their goose is cooked, particularly the magat candidates that are getting cash-starved by their fuehrer.
