I ask you -- how many of those which Maher puts forward as his beefs against the left are in any way the policy of the mainstream left.

Who pulled down the Lincoln statue. It certainly was not the mainstream left. Who says any weight is healthy. It certainly isn't the mainstream left. And the rest. Maher takes extreme right or extreme left examples and says they are how the left has changed. His audience hears the left. Maher doesn't in there at least say it's the radical left i have beefs with. His ever increasing conservative/libertarian/whatever audience hears the left, because Maher is sloppy. And that in the end simply enables the right. As does Maher's rants on woke. It's a right misappropriation of a word that originated in the black community. Be aware if what's around you. For safety reasons. misappropriated by the conservative right and misappropriated for laughs and for bitches against the left by Maher. It's bullshit.
