I was just trying to remember those days. I know I even attended a few military funerals I was dead silent for many minutes, remembering things that I had long forgotten. I would watch the procedure and knew in my heart that these members of the military were remembering things I had only imagined.

I also remember watching a few TV shows in my life and watching someone being taught the proper way of raising a flag and lowering each day. When it was done day after day, it became a task, and then it became work. But when you are on a parade field, or at a military base, it was done with reverence and honor. Always an honor to watch it done correctly.

Like I stated every once in a while in life I had the honor of escorting someone to receive a returning veteran. It was quite special, and it was quite moving. I even went to a Veteran's hospital on a few occasions.

Then I would hear someone in a forum get disgusted with America, politics, which party was in the right, and think back to those days. Even my newest next-door neighbor, now he is a Marine, he tells me that every time we talk. He served during Vietnam, 1966, each year is always defining for that war.

Thanks for sharing your memory, you see some memories are always inside of you until something wakes them up, like the Rasing or lowering of the American flag.
