Admittedly, resolving our existing promissory notes and securing new investment took longer than anticipated.



That says the job of "resolving our existing promissory notes and securing new investment" is finished. I think it is more likely that "resolving our existing promissory notes and securing new investment will take longer than anticipated".

A confirmation press release that their mission is accomplished would be very helpful.
