The reason the share account looks small is that many of the shares are held in Street name. That means if you and I and 98 other people hold shares at Schwab, it is counted as one shareholder not 100.

If I could afford to buy all of them, I would not need to buy any of them and I sure wouldn't be spending time on the message boards!
