The thing is that an imaginary god with the imagined supreme powers is a good thing so long as the imagined powers are benign. -- it's only when the believers demand absolute belief and obedience that it becomes a major problem -- therefore the existence of our 1st amendment keeping/forbidding the gov from making any laws concerning religion -- do not know why such a 1st amendment was excluded from the rewrite of Iraq's constitution --should be a requirement by the UN to be included in the governing documents of all nations admitted to its membership -- so our "under god" and "so help me god" and "god bless america" etc are helpful in governing this nation -- no harm at all -- hey, it even works on an individual lever
