brooklyn13, Not surprised you chose only one of the number of reasons given in the article. Your post to which i replied clearly revealed you were were taking a narrow view and missing much of the complexity of the situation, yet when i gave you an article meant to build your awareness you appear not to care about expanding your view. The article gave me considerable more food for thought, i'd hoped it might have done some of the same for you. For example, see one of the other considerations attributed to Egypt for their approach to Gazans below, for you. Suggest you spend more time on it ..

There is also the difficult issue of Palestinians’ continued displacement since 1948; most Gazans are the descendants of refugees from the first Arab-Israeli war, which Palestinians call the Nakba, or catastrophe. Palestinians live in diaspora all over the world, including in the US, and in refugee camps in Lebanon, Syria, and Jordan. For Egypt to be seen as contributing further to that pattern, even given the humanitarian crisis, is undesirable, too.

Seems you might choose to ignore anything which could in any way be seen to reflect poorly on Israel

It was Plato who said, “He, O men, is the wisest, who like Socrates, knows that his wisdom is in truth worth nothing”
