So, when do we see some scum come out of the wood work with a lawsuit against James. Surely she had relationships with someone who has a grudge and they can drag that up.

They did an amazing fast job of fucking up fani. That whole deal took the news and interest totally away from the reason she is there in the first place. Which is part of the plan.
