I maintain my hope that things could work out for KBLB. The timelines that people are giving contradict what KBLB has indicated in their PRs.

KBLB told us they intend for BAM 1 to be the centerpiece of the Spring Trials. They told us that one of the parent strains of BAM 1 was not yet homozygous, but they believe that will be happening in the near future.

Thus:

Step 1: Breed BAM 1 parent strains to be homozygous. (February 2024)

Step 2: Increase the breeding pool of BAM 1 parent lines
(Early April)

Step 3: Send BAM 1 parent line eggs to Vietnam
(Mid April)

Step 4: Increase the breeding pool of BAM 1 parent lines
(Early June)

Step 5: Ship eggs to GSS to start the “Spring” field trials.
(Mid June)

Step 6: First Spring field trial silk (10 to 25 kilos)
(End of July)

Step 7: Gradual scaling up of production (300 kilos total)
(End of year)

Step 8: 4-line parent strains ready (late 2024)

The dates in parentheses are pretty much the earliest these events could happen. Don’t blame me for understanding that growing and breeding silkworms takes time. Question those who assume instantaneous results. Spydasilk launching in June presumes GSS is already pumping out hundreds of kilos of silk. If that were true, KBLB should have already shared that happy news.

The best explanation for the annual lack of an annual shareholder’s meeting is simple: Thompson doesn’t want to face investors who have questions he doesn’t want to answer. If he had already announced an annual shareholders meeting, that would mean a breakthrough had happened or was imminent.

The 20% share rise on Friday could mean new investors or it could mean a bunch of short-term traders are hoping for a quick rise-and-crash, as we saw in the first run-up to 50 cents. We can’t tell who is invested yet.

Have to wait around and see. The KBLB way.
