I think ICON
leaves the designing and manufacturing to its brands ,and they do the marketing, selling and advising.
I worked in the fashion industry a few years back and
there are many layers to the buisness.
From what I've seen of ICON's marketing they will move the stuff but I don't think they want to get tangled up with all the details of product development and manufacturing. Since they have`so many different brands,not competing ,ICON can share info and advise on what products to develop ,price points, colors....etc.---since Danskin will then be moving larger quantities of stock at a time they will be able to spend more time/money on product development--best case scenario win-win for both---IMHO
