Winston Churchill once said, “You can always count on the Americans to do the right thing after they have tried everything else.” So it may go with covid.
In some respects our highly politicized covid response was a failure.
Also... American deaths are about 1,163,000. - Approaching 1.2 million deaths. World deaths 6,964,775.............. Approaching 7 million. The USA is 4.2% of the world population and has had 1/6th of the worlds deaths. (In spite of our access to the best vaccines and access to "best" antivirals)
And just less than a week ago Bill Maher sparred with Seth McFarlane over vaccine efficacy. : ) The more things change the more that they remain the same.
I think it's part of the reason there exists the need for Public Health doctrines- the laymen are ignorant and cannot be persuaded to act for the better good (and personal good) as the above statistics show. People are not getting boosters. Folks who listen to Bill Maher also wonder if he may be right about vaccines causing/contributing to covid infections.
