Based on what I have seen watching the Daytona Speedway race just about any Race Car driver and team would be glad to sponsor Aero Turbines on their cars. I believe they are aware that the name has been promoted really well and that the products put people "in tune" with performance vehicles and racing in general.
I Like the Ward Burton Sponsorship but agree that based on the luck of the race ( did anyone else see how many great cars got knocked out just due to being at the wrong place at the wrong time ? ) there should be a higher ranking car that Aero Sponsors if they can afford it. ( I dont believe that it is very expensive in comparison, driver to driver team to team ).
In fact I will go one step further and recommend that the Aero reps that set up sponsorship should go right to the winner of the race Harvick and try winning his sponsorship. If no workie... try Earnhardt and Gordon for max attention to it. Just about all of the racers are aware of the luck of the draw in racing and although they have earned much media attention they also had alot of help along the way to garner that attention. So I have no doubt of their willingness to help anyways.
The thought behind having 2 or 3 associate sponsors is to increase and "diversify" our chances for getting television and racing attention. I also am not sure that anyone analyzed cost/benefit enough to determine if the Full Hood of car sponsorship pays for itself in spades. It just may and if it does or did make financial sense than shareholders would understand a decision to do whats best for the ad effort.
I am not an expert on the cross section of the average race fan but I know they tend to shy away from over glamorizing and dont feel that the attention this stock and product is getting in any way takes away from the "culture" of racing just as it has existed for the last 50 plus years.
My focus is still on the Mid March financials and deal making steps gained. I hope it is productive for the shares sure could use the confidence.
