I appreciate the time and effort spent in answering my question, but the last paragraph of your response was all that was needed. Since you are not privy to my academic and professional resumes, I will not take it personally that you apparently assumed a lesson in financing was appropriate. However, you may want to tone down the condescension; I can guarantee others on IHUB will find the pedantic style offensive and respond in kind.

As for the part of your response that directly addressed my largely rhetorical question, it appears that the risk of defaulting on a short-term debt is what makes it a "wrong" choice. But my question assumes there would be no default, since the expected revenues from the China JV alone should enable the company to pay off an operating expenses loan with relative ease.
