Hamas are just plain assholes, but then the world already knew that their hardline approach was not the answer to anything. The problem for Israel is their leader, if that population knows he is a crook, and will only lead Israel into the abyss. But then in America we have that same problem with trump's leadership of the republican party.
Netanyahu will not be doing anything to advance Israels stance in the Middle East, if anything his neighbors will only grow more dissatisfied with them. Being a leader is learning the difference between protecting your nation from the horrors of the world, but practicing the diplomacy and leadership that is needed to overcome the issues facing the nation.
Look at Gaza, this is not going after Hamas, this is leveling an entire city so that no one can live there. Netanyahu thinks he is solving the problem with Hamas, he is doing them a favor.
