You and other shorts will relieve woody's shares for us... but wouldn't it be better for woody and all longs for you to be forced to relieve woody's shares at a much higher price at $8 thereby forcing EVERY short seller into a margin call short squeeze?

Hence it's better for him to get off the ask.

It's not the long's job to relieve him of any shares. That's the short's job. That's because every short must eventually cover.
