I've just checked several news sources and nowhere is any merger mentioned or even discussed.

there was a PR over a month ago on otcmarkets.com (the go to place for a lot of info on OTC Stocks). I have no clue what "several news sources" you checked, but that statement was nowhere near true!!!!!!
