Baker Hughes and Wison are teaming up. Good news for Delfin. Was able to find a paywall work around.
US oilfield and energy services giant Baker Hughes has formalised a significant collaboration with Chinese yard Wison Offshore & Marine through a memorandum of understanding.

McDermott International confirms award for huge deep-water gas project

This strategic move is aimed at establishing a robust foundation for future endeavours in offshore floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) vessels and onshore LNG applications.

The agreement signing was witnessed by Baker Hughes chief executive Lorenzo Simonelli.

The MoU outlines the intention to build a long-term relationship between the two entities, solidifying the development of a comprehensive frame agreement.

This agreement seeks to streamline business processes, standardise technical products and align strategies to capitalise on market opportunities.

The objective is to ensure optimal solutions during bidding and the seamless execution of projects, Wison said.

Damien Nguyen, chief technology officer at Wison, expressed confidence that the collaboration would not only strengthen ties between the companies but also contribute to advancing the global clean energy industry.

Wison, a major contractor for FLNG and onshore LNG plant modules in China, has an impressive track record.

The company has secured various FLNG engineering, procurement and construction contracts, plus a recent agreement in August with US-based Delfin Midstream to develop FLNG vessels for projects in the United States.

Additionally, Wison has entered into a pivotal arrangement with Malaysia's Genting Oil & Gas , focusing on acquiring essential equipment valued at $43.04 million for an FLNG vessel destined for the Kasuri field development off the coast of West Papua, Indonesia.

Anticipated to have an annual liquefaction capacity of 1.2 million tonnes, this FLNG vessel is a testament to Wison's expanding international footprint.

Wison's commitment is further exemplified by its initiation of construction work on the FLNG vessel's hull at its Nantong facility in January. The company cut first steel for the topsides of an FLNG vessel destined for Italian major Eni's Congo LNG project offshore Congo-Brazzaville in July.

The envisioned production capacity of this FLNG vessel is 2.4 million tpa, with operational commencement slated for 2025.

Wison's past achievements include the delivery of a 600,000 tpa capacity FLNG vessel for Belgian contractor Exmar in 2017.
