Please don't think I'm justifying Israel's treatment of the Palestinians, in general, I think it's abhorrent. It a strange thing, though, to try to figure out what Hamas' endgame is in all this. If it's not a regional conflagration, I don't know what it is. But by hiding munitions in civilian locations and with this latest attack, and knowing what it would bring in reprisals, it might be argued that Hamas is causing the death of at least as many Palestinians as is Israel.

Hamas fired, what, like 3000 rockets at Israel. Their rockets have been known to misfire in great numbers so we can't be sure how many of their own rockets are killing their own people. Israel's Iron Dome is likely saving Palestinians, too.
