To my understanding (Case # 2:21 -cv-00463):

Gilstrap filed the Final Judgement on 08/11/2023. Samsung then had 30 Days in which to file their appeal to that decision.

On Sep 8th, Samsung filed Document 561 which was a Motion for Judgement as a Matter of Law, and a Motion for a New Trial. I believe that filing stopped the clock on the 30-day appeal "window".

I believe we are waiting to see if Gilstrap will allow the motion for a new trial. If he denies, I believe that Samsung will file an appeal to the final judgement.

All this was just to get additional delays, in my opinion.
