It's kind of chopped up, but that first part and a lot of the rest is from the Sad Wings of Destiny album. Even early on, that double lead work they did was impressive. That continues through their later albums like Painkiller, which was real thrashy, and they just get better with age. On Painkiller the liner notes were granular to the point of detailing which of them took each of the lead breaks during the different pieces.

It's weird seeing Rob Halford with hair. I saw him much later, maybe 10 or 12 years back, and he's largely a bald guy... He still had a four octave voice though.

In interviews, nearly every subsequent metal band will cite Judas Priest as their inspiration.

Here's some Tool live. They are not like anyone else, although I've compared them to Pink Floyd, and so have others... it's not really a very exact comparison.

If you have the time, this is that full show, one where I was actually in the audience in Hartford, right after 9/11. It was an emotional performance as you might imagine.
