Nah-- what it was that the Plumbers Union was tasked with providing pipers for the dam -- the union agent was the father of a friend of my wife -- one word to him that I wanted to work on the dam -- and away I went -- first day, the technique.of bending cooling pipe was demonstrated and away we went -- each concrete pour was 50 feet wide, 150 feet long and 6 feet deep - and it had to be cooled with water -- thus -- cooling pipe -- tied down with wire -- plus grout between the poors -- grout required pipes -- topped off the dam in about July 1952 -- so off I went to The Dalles to build power lines for Bonneville Power -- thus a construction lineman -- my uncle was the agent for the Electrical union in Oregon so no problem getting my license to build those towers
