Unless he and rest of the bashers are Market makers, I do not have a clue how they can be short a "cash" stock. How can you borrow it? Unless the eTrade's and Ameritrades are lending the shares(are they?) how can they be short? If they are short it will only add to the reaction when deal terms and numbers are disclosed.
