Former U.S. Rep. Chris Collins (R-NY) believes he can win in Florida despite being pardoned by then-President Donald Trump for insider trading.

Collins revealed to WGRZ that he is assembling a team to run for Congress in Florida's 19th District.

In a somewhat complicated scenario, Collins would run if Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) defeats former President Donald Trump and President Joe Biden to win the presidency. The former lawmaker would try to fill the seat left open when Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL) runs to replace DeSantis as governor.

Collins "will run for FL-19 when/if Congressman Byron Donalds steps aside to run for Governor or U.S. Senate, which is rumored. If Collins wins, he would be the first member to represent 2 different states in the past 55 years," WGRZ's Scott Levin explained in a tweet.
