Medicare doesn't pay a income producing amount for the majority of treatments it supplies. Who pays?, The working stiff because his treatment is inflated so the providers can survive. It's one of the great hidden taxes in the world.

Take Nursing home care, Medicare pays a little over $200/day where the private payor is routinely $350-$400.
