Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Supports Abortion

Freedom loving Americans from different political parties are increasingly supporting the recently announced candidacy of Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

But what do we know about RFK Jr.’s position on critical issues such as abortion?

Although he has been dismissed by the legacy media and the Democrat party establishment. RFK Jr. is polling around 20% against the incumbent Democratic President Joe Biden, whose poll numbers are the lowest for any incumbent president in modern history.

Despite a lack of establishment support, RFK Jr. appears to be gathering momentum and boasts of the name recognition and the instinctive brand of non-partisan populism only enjoyed by the likes of Donald Trump.

RFK Jr.’s Path to the 2024 Presidential Campaign
Initially known for being the nephew of President John F. Kennedy and the son of Senator Robert Kennedy. RFK Jr., now 69 years old, has been in public life most of his adult life and has carved a name for himself in current events as a turn-of-the-millennium progressive populist Democrat.

A lifelong but relatively low profile Democrat, RFK Jr. is an experienced environmental attorney, activist, and author. While he has been involved in various political and social issues, his primary focus has been on environmental advocacy, particularly related to water and air pollution, vaccine safety, and climate change.

During the COVID 19 pandemic, RFK Jr. rose to prominence as one of the most vocal opponents of the draconian vaccine mandates implemented across the country by members of both the Democrat and Republican parties who acted in concert with corporate interests in the tech, finance, and biomedical industries to lock down and violate the medical freedom of the entire nation.

Although he was censored and de-platformed by Big Tech oligarchs, he published a very successful book detailing how Anthony Fauci, along with Bill Gates, pharmaceutical companies, and their cohorts used their control of media outlets, scientific journals, government agencies, and influential scientists and physicians to flood the public with fearful propaganda about COVID-19 virulence and pathogenesis, and to muzzle debate and censor dissent.

There is, perhaps, no more experienced public figure on the issue of regulatory capture by the rich and powerful interest groups than RFK Jr.. This issue, was traditionally a core policy position of progressive Democrats; and yet the modern progressive movement, with it’s penchant for Chinese style censorship and weaponization of government against its political opponents, has rejected RFK Jr. as a mere conspiracy theorist.

RFK Jr.’s Professional Background

While many on the establishment and modern progressive left, dismiss RFK Jr. as simply an anti-vaxx conspiracy theorist, his professional track record as a lawyer and activist is quite impressive.

Rather than enter politics himself, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. carried on his family’s legacy of public service by devoting himself to environmental causes and children’s welfare. He is the founder of the Waterkeeper Alliance — the world’s largest clean water advocacy group — and served as its longtime chairman and attorney. He then went on to found Children’s Health Defense, a mass membership organization where he served as chairman and chief litigation counsel in its campaign to address childhood chronic disease and toxic exposures.

Kennedy’s reputation as a resolute defender of the environment and children’s health stems from hundreds of successful legal actions. TIME Magazine named Kennedy its “Hero for the Planet” for his leadership in the fight to restore the Hudson River. This achievement helped spawn more than 300 Waterkeeper organizations across the globe. The New York City watershed agreement, which he negotiated on behalf of environmentalists and New York City watershed consumers, is regarded as an international model in stakeholder consensus negotiations and sustainable development.

Kennedy has enjoyed legal victories in many milestone environmental battles over the past four decades in Latin America, Canada, and the United States. Most recently, Kennedy was on the trial team in the landmark victories against Monsanto in 2018, and against DuPont in 2019 in the contamination case that inspired the movie “Dark Waters.” In addition to his environmental work, he has represented Indigenous groups asserting legal and treaty rights across Latin America and Canada.

RFK on His Catholic Faith

Adding to RFK Jr.’s political complexity is the fact that he comes from a Catholic background and is one of eleven siblings from the most devout branch of the Kennedy clan.

However, like President Donald Trump, FK Jr. has a checkered personal past: he has been divorced twice and married three times, throughout his life he has been accused of serial adultery, and as a young adult, he was addicted to heroin.

Yet, despite his inner demons, RFK Jr., did grow into the faith of his parents and is said even to attend daily Mass.

Asked why he attends daily Mass, he said, “I don’t do it because I’m a holy person or a particularly good person, but because I’ve got a constant struggle going on in my head between doing good things and bad things, and I need a lot of help in order to do the right thing on a day-to-day basis.”

Boston Globe Interview

In a 2005 interview with Michael Paulson of the Boston Globe, RFK Jr. was quoted as considering himself to be pro-life.

That year, he published a book on St. Francis of Assisi called St. Francis of Assisi: a Life of Joy.

Classical Progressive Democrat

In addition to his environmental activism, RFK Jr. has supported traditionally progressive causes such as criminal justice reform, socialized healthcare, anti-war and anti-capitalist policies, the decriminalization of drugs and a general loosening of sexual morality including the support of same sex “marriage.”

In the past, RFK Jr. also endorsed and worked for the campaigns of Al Gore, John Kerry and Barack Obama.

RFK Jr.’s Current Stance on Abortion

RFK Jr.’s evolution on abortion seems to mirror that of every other pro-life Democrat who aspires to a national position within the Democratic party.

Interestingly, he recently appointed another “pro-life” Democrat, Dennis Kucinich to lead his campaign.

Dennis Kucinich himself, had a pro-life track record during his time as an Ohio state legislator and his early terms in congress, even professing that he believed life began at conception; but by 2003 Kucinich had risen to prominence for his opposition to the Iraq war and had become the leader of the House progressive caucus and was making a run for President in 2004. Given the tantalizing possibility of turning anti-war sentiment into a position of national power within the Democrat party, Kucinich dropped his pro-life stance and professed to be pro-abortion.

It now appears that RFK Jr. might be doing the same thing Kucinich tried to do in 2004 minimizing his past position of being nominally against abortion, and “evolving” into a more palatable position for the Democratic primary voter.

In comments made to Newsweek, an RFK Jr. campaign representative told the magazine that he “believes strongly in the principle of bodily autonomy, whether the issue is abortion or medical mandates … He will keep government away from women’s childbearing choices. The moral issues are best left to the woman, her family, and her religious community.”

While neither abortion nor the euphemism of “reproductive rights” appear on RFK Jr.’s official campaign website, https://www.kennedy24.com/, last week he did give an interview with Breaking Points with Krystal and Saagar in which he called abortion a “tragedy” but also said he didn’t think “government should tell people what to do with their bodies.”
