So that is why they have a separate magestrate demarchi handling the settlement conference...because whatts discussed informally in the settlement discussions if a settlement isint reached might influce the judge if it goes to trial..... that's standard for any trial if it goes into mediation.

For example if google said ill settle for 10 mill and vplm says hell no thats too low (it implies google knows they are guilty)...so if it goes to trial the judge isint supposed to know so he can remain impartial...


so judge donato doesnt know whats going on in the settlement conferences....so for him to say "hey everyone lets stop these settlement conferences" it just smells bad (because i cant think of a reason why he would do that besides him wanting to rule to dismiss the case via the alice motion thats pending)....just my opinion
