NASH - one of my friends was one of two or three MD's that could approve liver transplants at a major hospital.

This is what he told me a couple years ago:

There are not enough livers for transplant demands. NASH patients are not candidates for liver transplants. They will not score well and we would rather transplant on alcoholics.

He went on to support the need for treatment of NASH.

It is astonishing what foolish things one can temporarily believe if one thinks too long alone ... where it is often impossible to bring one's ideas to a conclusive test either formal or experimental. J.M. Keynes
