Well…if a stock gets “delisted”, which MIKP has never been “listed” to begin with, so I assume your are referring to “pink”, a short position still needs to be covered.

As for bankruptcy, it is a common held fallacy that “shorts” just walk away with their money.

They don’t. If they don’t cover during the bankruptcy proceedings, it gets hung up until the bankruptcy gets discharged and the stock is cancelled…and that can take years. It is why you generally see open short positions get covered when the bankruptcy is declared because the stock price usually gets hammered and there is little upside left to holding until cancellation.
