CB - The truth about the CATV telegram chat.
I think it is importamt to put this out there in light of what has been mentioned by a couple of others that are jaded or upset. You seem like someone that does not just blindly listen to one side of the story and believe it but kind of seems like you are.
I also get that due to OTC tickers when you hear one or two comments the first thing you think of is some type of boiler room pump and dump room.
I assure you it is actually the exact opposite and was even created in its inception to avoid exactly that. So if you care to listen to both sides of the coin before making judgments ... read on.
By the way ... I am not a founding member or even one of the early members.
The CATV telegram was created because of places like ST where you get incessant pumpers like GP Farms, bashers, scalpers and others with an agenda. It was created for people who at least claimed not to be in it just for that and liked the company.
There was a DD room where they only wanted legitamate DD posted and nothing else similar to what was at the top of this page that Hobbes did. If someone posted BS or illegitamate information the mods would remove it. It had to be something substantiated etc.
MF was invited and joined only the DD room. He had only posted in there maybe 3 times or a handful of times. Once he posted ... thanks for your support ... again ... never anything about the Company, insider information. Very little was posted in there ever and only DD related. No other conversation really took place. It was very low volume.
A 2nd room was created which was the fun room ... MF is not in that room. where everyone could just talk and pist whatever. People posted about their hobbies, rebuilding cars, home remodels, sports, entertainment, funny gifs, work, on and on. 90+% of posts was just that ... at times there would be 1k posts in a day just about random stuff.
Of course if the stock did well people would talk about it ... if it was sliding ... people would talk about it. Then the ither 10% was either about the stock or the company. The water is good ... wonder if they thought about trying to get someone from MMA into it. New products. The farm.
No remember at this time the company went through becoming Pink Current ... Q1 posted, Upick hemp weekends ... at this time the farm was open ... instagram pictures were being posted, people were visiting the farm themselves, touring it, taking pictures and videos ... ordering the products from the website and talking about the customer service, product quality, what they liked, what they didnt, what could be improved ...
And a lot of talk about the janky website lol.
People were excited. Let me clear ... no one ever pumped or threw out ridiculous price targets in that room or anything like that. I have researched tons of pump and dumps ... go look at the AABB board where people are constantly posting the stock is going to $5 ... it was .64 ... not it is .02 and people are posting you should sell all of your assets and buy more aabb because it is going to go to $5 and change the world.
The room was created to be the exact opposite and if you read the DD Hobbes posted on this page on iHub ... the most that was probably said was ... IF the Company does 20 to 40m revenue like they say ... it could go up to .05 ... .08 ... maybe .11 or .15 ... and you can see above what that was based on which has been on this page a long time ago. No one was telling peiple to buy it ... or buy more or throwing out this is going to a dollar. ST is 100x worse than anything ever posted in there. There is a fine line between people excited seeing the farm ... thinking they got in something early that had a good chance of going up from when they bought it.
That assumes a lot of things ... like the Company changing its name from a cable company, actually doing 20m to 40m in revenue ... and coming through on stated goals.
Naturally as time went on ... people would start suspecting people of being fake in that room and that they really were pumpers, or purposefully posting bearish to get lower price or really scalping ... i.e. having an agenda.
Some people got booted for being suspected of that ... think about that ... that is exactly the opposite behavior as some boiler room.
Then some people got into arguments and if it got out of hand ... got booted.
Then some people were critical but got a hand not too dissimilar to ihub ... there are still rules ... and you can get posts here removed ... you can get suspended and you can get banned for a length of time. So think about that as well ... no one has a problem with that here lol
Now I will say there were 1 or 2 instances were a boot may have been questionable ... and people even posted saying they think people should be able to be critical as long as it is done in a professional manner ... not spamming the board ... doing it in a respectful manner etc. It was much more democratic in that regard for sure and people shared a lot of ideas and opinions.
Like anything else ... some people ... not dissimilar to ST could get defensive to negativity but that is normal and it was actually handled really well. There was even people that were booted allowed to return not any different than here with a little temp ban.
Of course anyone that was ever booted for any reason ... will be quite vindictive and spiteful and then post stuff like TX Trader and if you only listen to 1 persons side of the story ... then you are a fool. They will say I was booted for just voicing my opinion ... but if you read the tape ... that most definitely is not the while story.
When the CE happened ... people were devastated ... keep in mind ... not one person or admin said people could not sell or anything ... the message to everyone was everyone is a grown up and can make their own decision and no one will fault you if you do not want to risk holding or having your money tied up. Some people were true believers ... others were skeptical.
Believe it or not ... the admins that most likely started the group ... are still there ... never left ... they did not leave and delete their account like GP Farms ... and even the admins wrestled with this looks bad ... do I want to risk my money being tied up ... people that live closer to the farm drove over there to see what was going on etc. Most people were genuinely devastated, befuddled ... a lot of stories of damn ... I visited the farm ... I met with Michael ... talked to him face to face, toured the farm and I cant believe this is happening.
Naturally as the CE dragged on this happy little group was like when 10 people are in a life raft drifting at sea and food and water ate running out. People's true colors start coming out.
I guarantee you worse things have been said in there than anything ever posted here. Discord grew and as you can imagine a lot of people were very frustrated, upset, hurt, mad ... after awhile ... people started accusing anyone that posted positive things about the stock ... they were punpers ... in on it ... and shanking them with a knife and throwing them overboard metaphorically speaking.
The fact is no one forced anyone to buy it ... no one pumped it ... and everyone was excited when upick weekends were going on and new products were showing up on the website ... they conveniently forget that and then the blame started turning on anyone and everyone else. So anyone that was in it early had to be the problem right.
Some people posted some hateful things and naturally got booted, others left ... and now and for over a year there is only a handful that post anything in there as you can imagine.
It is a sad and tragic tale ... but dont get it twisted ... and trust me ... if you think I did not research every person, every post whether it was on ihub, twitter, ST, facebook etc ... I did ... and to be honest ... I couldnt find anything that stood out as pumping or shady ... I would challenge anyone to take iHub here and go back and look at every pisy from Octover to current and point out where you think you can find someone spamming, pumping etc.
I looked for it ... trust me ... and came up with nothing except a handful of people that probably got in when it was at a penny or a little lower that thought it had potential.
But that is the truth of what the telegram chat is ... or was ... it is not much of anything now except the OG's that are still hopeful CE will come off and some people check in from time to time for updates.
